Aztec Museum & Pioneer Village is a local history museum featuring a self-guided tour through a reconstructed Pioneer Village, an early farm implement exhibit, a rock & mineral exhibit, and an oilfield exhibit showcasing the early drilling rigs and equipment used in the San Juan Basin. 

Collection

The general collection of the Aztec Museum, housed in the main museum building, includes a clock collection, clothing, office equipment, and a barber shop. In the Lobato Room, there are collections of minerals, fossils, rocks, and seashells, as well as Spanish armor and cowboy and sheepmen equipment.

Pioneer Village


The 10 original buildings in the Pioneer Village, dating from 1880, along with three replicas, include a log cabin, a general store and post office, a doctor's office, a sheriff's office and jail, a print shop, a blacksmith shop, a one room school, and a bank. There is also a Denver & Rio Grande Rail Road caboose in the village. The post office features mail boxes from the old Flora Vista Post Office.
